CHICKEN BIRYANI IN PRESSURE COOKER

Chicken biryani is very close to the heart of many south Indians. Very yummy and tasty chicken biryani recipe. If you trying this chicken biryani recipe you will never order biryani in any hotel because I can make delicious chicken biryani right at home

Chicken recipe

Ingredients for Chicken Biryani :

·        ·      150ml oil

·     ·      ½ kg Chicken

·     ·      ½ kg Seeraga samba Rice (1 cup)

·     ·       3 Bellary onion 

·     ·       3 Tomato

·     ·       1 Green chilly

·     ·       1 tbs lemon juice

·      ·      1 Bayleaf

·      ·      2 tbs ginger garlic paste

 

For Grind :

·      ·      1 Cinnamon

·      ·      2 Cardamom

·       ·    1 Cloves

·       ·     1 Star anise

·      ·      2 Green chilly

·       ·    1 Cup coriander leaves

·       ·    1 Cup mint leaf

 

For Spices :

·       ·     1 Cup curd

·       ·    1 ½ tbs Red chilly powder

·       ·    2 tbs Coriander powder

·       ·    ¼ tbs turmeric powder

·       ·    1 tbs Briyani masala

How to make Chicken Biryani

Ø    Pour a little water and grind fine paste all these cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, star anise, green chilly, coriander leaves, mint leaf

Ø    Pour two cups of water and soak the rice for 3o minutes

Ø    Heat oil in a heavy bottom pressure cooker. When  oil is hot add the bayleaf

Ø    When the bayleaf is fried add the sliced onion and fry the onion for 2 minutes until it turns nice red. Add ginger, garlic paste, green chili and sauté for a minutes to get rid of raw smell

Ø    Add sliced tomato then add a little salt to make the tomatoes saute. Sauté fore minutes

Ø    When the tomato was well sauté add chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, biryani masala. Cook this masala until oil come out for 2 minutes

Ø    Add the cleaned and washed chicken into the cooker, mix well.

Ø    Roast the chicken until it changes its color and keep stirring in between

Ø    Whisk or beat the curd well  and add into the chicken. Mix all the ingredients well. Cook this chicken gravy 4-5 minutes on low flame

Ø    Add 2 cup of water and add soaked seeraga samba rice into it. Mix everything well. Now at this step add salt as per requirement and add lemon juice. Mix up everything

Ø    Cover the lid of the pressure cooker. cook the biryani for 1 whistles on high flame. After 1 whistle cook for 3-4 minutes for on low flame

Ø    Reduce the steam completely. Carefully remove the lid of the pressure cooker.

Ø    Check the biryani and allow it to cool down

v Serve the delicious tasty pressure cooker chicken briyani, enjoy it with raita
