Murungai Keerai (Drumstick Leaves) Sambar is a delicious side dish for rice. Murungai Keerai (Drumstick Leaves) are an excellent source of protein. the drumstick leaves are rich in Vitamin A, B-Complex and many more minerals. we should include murungai keerai in our routine diet.
Ingredients
Chillli powder 1 tbs
Split gram/Yellow lentil 100gm
Drumstick leaf 1 cup
Small onion 100gm
Thakkali. 100gm
Garlic. 5
Sampar powder 2 tbs
Asafoetida powder 1/2 tbs
Cumin Seeds 1/2 tbs
Salt as per tast
Mustard seeds 1/2 tbs
Tamarind 1/2 Lemon sized

Cooking method
Step1)
Soak 1/2 lemon sized tamarind in 1 cup water for 30-40 minutes. Squeeze the pulp from the soaked tamarind with your hands in the water. Keep aside.
Step 2)
Pressure cook the washed Split gram and a little turmeric powder for about 3 to 4 whistles
Step 3)
Heat oil in a pan and once the oil is hot add Mustard seeds, Asafoetida power then added sliced onion and saute well till golden brown
Step 4)
Now add sliced tomatoes and saute for a minutes. Add boil Split gram, Sampar powder, Salt, water and Let it boil
Step 5)
add drumstick leaf, Crushed cumin seeds, crushed garlic and boil
